*This 9 Things You Need To Survive Your Third Trimester & Money Savings Tips with Dubli” post is in collaboration with Dubli.com. As always, all opinions are my own.
The third trimester of pregnancy is full of mixed emotions. You’re anxious for the baby to get here, likely feeling physically uncomfortable, ready to have your body be yours again and the list goes on. I get it. I literally just went through it.
I shared my first-trimester must-haves and second-trimester essentials a few months ago so I only feel it’s right to follow them up with the few things that helped me get through my third trimester. Plus, I’m sharing one of my favorite sites to shop them on so you can save money while doing so.
Luckily I have pretty easy pregnancies but I still have some of those typical pregnancy symptoms that are just downright uncomfortable (hello indigestion – I’m talking to you). So today I’m sharing a few of the things that helped me get through my third trimester with a little more ease.
9 Things You Need To Survive Your Third Trimester
Pregnancy Pillow – I mentioned this item in my post of second-trimester essentials but now more than ever you’re going to need that bad boy. Sometimes lying down feels so good….until you’ve been there for a few minutes.
A big belly tends to pull your hips leaving your lower back feeling a lot of strain. A really great pregnancy pillow can help alleviate that discomfort and help you sleep more soundly through the night. But beware – they do take up a LOT of room!
Sneakers – I know, seems ridiculous, but I promise – you’ll want them. Waddling will become your new walk and doing that in pumps usually isn’t too comfortable. Do I wear heels? Totally. But maybe 2% of the time. Not only are a good pair of sneakers more practical but they also help with swelling.
Nightgown – At this point, any pants are probably just annoying. The last place you want to be uncomfortable is the bed so slip on a nightgown and just be one with your pillow 🙂 Nightgowns are also great for post-pregnancy/nursing and so convenient to have during your hospital stay. (If you happen to shop some from Macy’s don’t forget you can save more $ by logging into Dubli first!)
Maternity Belt – Some people will never need this and some will be lost without it – it all depends on how your back is feeling at this stage. I personally have horrible SI joint pain in every single pregnancy (lucky me!) so a belt has helped to keep my joints stable. The belt will help to alleviate pain by taking the pressure off your hips and back.
Wireless Bra – By now you’re boobs are probably twice the size they were when you got pregnant and an underwire bra is likely making you uncomfortable. A wireless bra is the way to go right now and will give you the coverage and support you need in the last few months. If you plan on nursing I suggest opting for nursing bras NOW so that you don’t have to buy a whole new set once the baby gets here.
Heating Pad – Back to the back pain… Obviously check with your dr. first to make sure they are comfortable with you using a heating pad. If they are – get that bad boy asap. Putting a little heat on your hips/back at night accompanied by your body pillow can be a real lifesaver!
Belly Oil – If you haven’t used belly oil yet now is the time to start. With your belly being the biggest it will ever be your skin is reeeeally starting to stretch. Not only will belly oil keep you moisturized but it will also help to keep you from getting itchy while preventing stretch marks. There are some really great ones at Target!
Antacid Tablets – This was my third pregnancy where I was been blessed with heartburn/indigestion in the third trimester, especially at night. I recommend keeping a bottle of Antacids in your purse as well as your night table for when those times flare-up (laying down often brings it on). Elevating your upper body also helps but that makes sleeping horribly uncomfortable (at least for me).
Water Bottle – Maybe it’s because I’ve been 8 months pregnant during the summer in my last 2 pregnancies but I’ve noticed I’m exceptionally hotter during the third trimester. I always make sure to carry a water bottle with me (also helps keep swelling/cramping at bay) and try to refill as often as possible.
That’s it! The list isn’t long but the items are so very helpful. Each of these has helped me get through all 3 pregnancies and I highly recommend them to any pregnant mama!
I mentioned above saving money while shopping for these third-trimester survival items. If you’re going to buy them might as well save some money, right? Welcome Dubli.com
