Looking for workout brands like GymShark that won’t break the bank? I got you

In recent years, the Gymshark brand took the world by storm. They became incredibly popular on social media and since then have been going full steam ahead.

If you follow any fitness influencers, you’ve probably seen the brand promoted quite frequently.

As a personal trainer, fitness competitor, and avid gym-goer working out is a part of my daily life. I know how important (and hard) it is to find high-quality, yet cute and affordable athletic wear.

So what activewear brand like Gymshark is the best? Let’s find out below.

woman wearing green camo workout leggings and a grey crop top

My readers have spoken! These specific leggings are the most popular among my readers!

They are the cheapest yet highest quality leggings that rival GymShark and they offer a perfect fit. They come in 3 colors, have an extra high waistband, AND they’re seamless. If you can get them under $25, grab them.

I’ll get into more detail about the pair above later but for now, let’s get into the full list of fitness brands like GymShark that offer affordable, yet high-quality workout pieces.

Best Brands Like GymShark That Won’t Break The Bank

Girlfriend Collective

Girlfriend Collective is comparable to Gymshark in both price and quality. The brand’s high-rise and compression-style leggings are squat-proof, available in a wide variety of colors, and come in sizes up to 6X.

Outdoor Voices

Outdoor Voices has become increasingly popular for its sporty but chic tennis dresses. However, they also carry high-quality leggings, smoothing and seamless sports bras, and much more.

Asos

Asos has some of the cutest athletic clothing. Their activewear is broken down into categories including gym & training, yoga, running, swimming, and more.

Asos offers unique designs at a reasonable price, which makes them a great alternative to Gymshark clothing. Not to mention, their items are affordable, on-trend, and made of high-quality materials. They also offer tall, petite, and maternity options.

Forever 21

Forever 21 offers thousands of items, including gym clothes at super affordable prices. I’ve personally found some great pairs of leggings for only $11.

Recently, their selection is not what it use to be. However, they still have sweat-wicking, comfortable pieces for training sessions that are incredibly affordable.

Old Navy

The great thing about Old Navy is that many of their styles come in several lengths like capri, 7/8, and full. They also carry styles for all body types including some that are durable enough for high-intensity workouts.

Some Old Navy styles are as high as $39, however, Old Navy is almost always running sales and promo codes on top of current discounts, which makes them a great place to shop for cheap workout clothes.

In addition to sales, Old Navy also has a great rewards program. If you have an Old Navy or Gap card you earn 5 points for every dollar spent. 500 points equal a $5 reward.

Rewards are automatically added to your account for easy shopping.

Fabletics

Fabletics is an online store co-founded by Kate Hudson and is hands down one of the best companies like GymShark. They carry separates and tons of sets as well, such as the few shown above.

I recommend the power hold style. They’re seamless with high compression and a smoothing effect and they’re made for high performance.

Fabletics offers high quality, squat-proof leggings which makes them perfect for the weight room. As you can tell, I’m a huge fan.

I’ve never worn a pair of Fabletics leggings that WASN’T squat-proof.

They’re also extremely affordable and the site regularly runs 2 for $24″ leggings sales. In addition to sales, you can also save more by joining their VIP membership program.

Zella

Zella is another incredible brand that offers clothes like GymShark.

You can purchase Zella products at Nordstrom, however, I recommend shopping via Nordstrom Rack instead. The prices at Nordstrom Rack are generally about 1/2 of the prices at Nordstrom.

X By Gottex

A lesser-known activewear company is X By Gottex. X By Gottex is comparable to GymShark but way more affordable.

You can find X By Gottex performance wear at Nordstrom Rack. Leggings are typically under $29 and sports bras are frequently less than $15.

All in Motion

I think it’s safe to safe you’re probably familiar with Target. But did you know that Target has some pretty great workout brands?

All in Motion is an activewear company that offers high-waisted, capri, 7/8, and full-length style leggings at an average price of $30.

All In Motion also has a great selection of sports bras ranging from $16-$24.

BooHoo

BooHoo launched in 2006 and is known for its trendy and ulra-affordable apparel. They release over 500 new items every week and aside from fitness apparel, they also carry great outfits for date night, casual gatherings, and festivals.

A great thing about BooHoo is that they’re almost always running a sale, and they even offer a buy now, pay later option.

Boohoo fitness apparel tends to be on the sexier side (though not all items). Their pieces consist of leggings with cutouts and sheer mesh panels, crop tops, tank tops, and sports bras with ruching and strappy details.

If you’re looking for something like a trendy exercise dress, this is hands down the place you want to look!

Under Armour

Under Armour has been around since 1996 and has been a leader in the fitness apparel game ever since it’s inception. The brand offers high quality fitness clothing which is often seen worn by professional athletes.

Under Armour has plenty of GymShark alternatives. A perfect example is their current best-seller, the “Vanish” leggings.

These leggings are designed with mesh panels and fabric that won’t cling or chafe. They’re sweat-wicking and breathable yet sleek and stylish at the same time.

While these leggings may not be cheaper than GymShark, many of their items are comparable in price or less and are worth adding to your workout wardrobe.

You can shop their site by the style of bottoms (capri, full-length, leggings, shorts, etc.) as well as the rise and technology, which is something most other brands don’t offer.

Missguided

Missguided is another incredibly trendy and affordable site like GymShark. Their mission is to empower women to be confident in who they are and it’s very evident in their statement pieces.

You can find up to 1,000 new and on-trend styles on their site every week. They too run sales almost daily and also offer a 20% student discount.

The Missguided site is easy to navigate with shopping categories for nearly everything. On the Missguided site, you can shop by occasion, fit, trend, and more.

Missguided also offers plus size clothing as well.

Walmart

While Walmart is the least like GymShark on this list, they’re still one to check out for affordable activewear.

Walmart is home to several brands, including Champion, Avia, Athletic Works, and more. They have the best prices and with new products arriving weekly, it’s a great place to keep an eye on.

I’ve found tons of great deals at Walmart and just recently shared a HUGE Walmart fashion haul – including activewear

Shop Camo Workout Leggings

Shein

Shein is known for their incredibly low prices. However, with that comes the issue of quality.

While I do recommend shopping at Shein for great affordable fashion, I do have a few tips I highly recommend following to ensure a positive shopping experience.

1.) When shopping at Shein I ALWAYS recommend reading reviews of items prior to purchasing. There are reviews on almost every item on their site and it’s pretty easy to get an idea of what you’ll be getting once you skim through them.

2.) I recommend heading over to Shein on Amazon before you order direct from the Shein site. Shein sells a TON of their items on Amazon and most ship prime with free shipping and free return shipping. In the event you receive your item and it’s not what you expect, chances are you can ship it back for free!

Alphalete

Alphalete offers athletic apparel that’s extremely similar in style and price to GymShark, but I put it last on this list because it’s not really cheaper. However, if you aren’t familiar with the brand, they’re one to check out as they run sales quite frequently.

Many Alphalete leggings are lightweight yet breathable and they offer high compression while being stretchy but still soft.

Alphalete leggings have reinforced stitching, which is really important if you plan to wear them for intense workouts and squatting, etc. They’re also moisture-wicking and extra high-waisted.

Most of the styles throughout this list are great alternatives for brands like GymShark AND Alphalete.

Pretty Little Thing

Pretty Little Thing offers really stand-out styles with cutouts, sheer paneling and attention-grabbing prints.

Pretty Little Thing is almost always running sales and they’re sports bras/crop tops can frequently be found for $18 and below while their leggings tend to fall around the $20-$24 mark.

Their pieces are definitely on the cheaper side of all the pieces throughout this list, but I’ve personally never tried their items so I can’t speak to quality.

Amazon

Now, let’s dive into the 10 best athletic brands like GymShark on Amazon

Amazon is so popular these days, I couldn’t publish this post without sharing the top 10 brands on Amazon that mimic GymShark.

Women's black high waisted workout leggings.

1.) The Gym People

These leggings are high-waisted and full-length with tummy control and pockets. If you’re on the taller side, they would probably work well.

If you’re looking for great brands like Gymshark but cheaper, these are at the top of the list.

2.) Jed North

This brand is commonly known as being incredibly similar to GymShark. Their line offers styles that closely match the GymShark Vital Seamless collection as well as the Energy Seamless sets.

The leggings above offer a high waist with tummy control and an ultra-wide waistband for compression and shaping.

Jed North is available on Amazon with prime shipping. If you’re afraid of ordering GymShark and possibly paying for return shipping, these are a good option.

3.) ColorfulKoala

ColorfulKoala leggings are designed to flatter your curves. They offer tons of styles, including prints and solids and they’re designed to be worn in the gym as well as for athleisure.

This pair is made of 75% polyester and 25% spandex, so they’re extra soft with gentle compression. They also have hidden waistband pockets and a 28″ inseam.

4.) M MOYOOGA Seamless Leggings

As mentioned earlier, I wear workout leggings 5-6 days a week. These leggings are INCREDIBLE and my personal favorite.

Hundreds of my Instagram followers have now purchased these leggings. I prefer these over my GymShark leggings.

They have an ultra-high waistband so they’re great for a long torso. They’re also seamless and squat-proof.

I actually think that these leggings are better than GymShark in some ways. For starters, the inseam is much longer. If you have a long torso, this is a dream come true!

5.) CRZ Yoga

These leggings are extremely soft and come in over 20 colors including both prints and solids. They have a “naked feel” meaning it feels like you’re not even wearing pants!

They offer a hidden, no-dig waistband with a hidden pocket and a smoothing effect. Find the matching sports bra here.

If you’re looking for super cute workout clothing, these sets are sure to fit the bill.

These would also work as early maternity leggings as well.

6.) Dragon Fit

These high waist yoga leggings have 3 pockets and 4-way stretch. They come in full length as well as capri length.

7.) WodoWei

If you’re looking for an athletic brand like GymShark, this brand is a great option. They have full sets to get the complete look, just like GymShark.

This set comes in 5 colors and has the quality, look, and feel of GymShark sets.

Both the leggings and sports bra fit true to size. The leggings are high compression, seamless and squat proof. The sports bra has removable cups and is good for moderate/high intensity.

8.) Reebok

Reebok has made a name for itself since it got its start in 1958. I’ve personally been a customer for years. These cropped leggings are built for performance and with 32 different colors, you’re bound to find one you like.

Heard from reviewers: true to size and squat proof.

9.) 90 Degree By Reflex

90 Degree By Reflex is one of the most popular activewear brands like GymShark. They’re known for their high-waisted and slimming leggings like the ones above.

This tummy control style has both 1 and 2-pack options which allow you to save even more money.

Women's purple workout leggings.

10.) These tummy control, compression leggings come in over 45 colors. They are also available in capri and full-length versions as well as 2-pack options.

Reviewers note that these leggings fit true to size, the pocket is large enough for an i-phone, they do not ride down or show sweat marks AND they aren’t see-through.

Brands Like GymShark I DON’T recommend

So earlier we narrowed down the top 10 brands like GymShark on Amazon. Now, let’s get to some leggings that might look like GymShark but I don’t recommend due to poor reviews (or personal experience).

Womens pink and white ombre workout leggings.

Do these leggings look a heck of a lot like GymShark? SURE DO. So, why don’t I recommend them?

Here are a few reasons:

  • I’ve tried them and they are 100% NOT squat proof.
  • Other reviewers said they ripped halfway through their workout. Yikes.
  • Sizing reviews are all over the place.

They’re tempting, but I would try another pair in this post before pulling the trigger on these.

Pink workout leggings.

Here’s another pair that closely resembles GymShark that I don’t recommend. I tried these as well and aside from a major CT they were horribly see-through. I’d steer clear of these.

There are just so many women’s workout clothing brands out there, but if you love the style of GymShark, I think those listed here will be your best bet.

So, what is the best gym clothing brand like GymShark? As mentioned above, THESE leggings (pictured below) most closely resemble the style, quality, and fit of GymShark leggings.

A woman taking a selfie wearing green camo workout leggings and a grey crop top.

That’s it for this list of the top brands like GymShark! If you happen to be a GymShark fan like myself, I hope you were able to find some comparable (but cheaper) options here.

If you’re an Amazon lover like me, check out my Amazon Storefront. I share daily outfit inspo, daily deals, and all items are broken down into categories for easy shopping.

  1. Walmart’s Avia “Flex Tech” line are really nice (and affordable!). I picked up four pairs of multi leggings and coordinating tops for around $100 TOTAL. The fabric is contouring and buttery soft WITHOUT that “painted on”/trashy vibe. I’ll only say about Target, though, is that (while I love their swimwear and get most of my work outfits there….and at T.J.’s too): their fitness clothing, to me, is always cut small and disproportionate (M/L will be the fine leg length….BUT be super tight in the hip area with, strangely?, a short rise; or: XL will pull all the way up to the chest while the knees will sag).

    1. Avia is great! I do agree, target seems to run extremely small. I wish it werent that way because they have some really great styles.
