In fall and winter, I absolutely love pairing leggings with chunky boots.

While a pair of doc martens is what comes to mind for many of us, they’re often really pricey.

However, you’re in luck!

Today, we’re sharing some of the best Doc Martens alternatives so you can get a similar look without the hefty price tag.

There are SO many ways to style combat boots but finding a pair to add to your shoe collection that won’t leave you broke can be hard, especially if you wait until the cooler months.

The popular styles tend to sell out super fast, especially the black leather varieties.

Fashionistas love dr. martens boots because they’re comfortable, high quality, and timeless.

They’ve been around for a long time and they are still just as popular in present fashion as they were years ago.

The iconic brand is a staple in the fashion world and is often seen worn by countless celebs such as Olivia Rodrigo, Emma Chamberlain, and Hailey Bieber.

With welt stitching, premium leather, memory foam insoles, and a chunky platform, they’re meant to last a lifetime.

The best part about Docs is that whether you want to create an edgy look with a skirt and lace-up boots or more casual outfits like a great pair of boots with skinny jeans and a denim jacket, combat boots can do the job.

As you can see below, pairing black boots with leggings is one of my favorite ways to create an outfit!

Here are some cheaper alternatives to Doc Martens in all different colors and styles.

Doc Marten Alternatives

Linston Combat Boots

These boots come and go frequently, so if they aren’t available when you check, give them some time and look again!

With a padded footbed and soft sole, these are not only fashionable, by comfy too.

Steve Madden Howler

These boots by Steve Madden are a great alternative to Doc Marten Chelsea boots. I have them in 2 different colors and love them both the same.

They fit true to size and have a roomy toe box, plus they are a fraction of the price of any style of Doc Martens.

These boots feature a slip-on style with a pull tab which makes it easy to get them on, and they have a chunky sole which makes the great for all day wear.

These boots come in plenty of sizes and are a classic style that can be worn with a wide variety of outfits.

Dunes Women’s Dalya Chelsea Boot

These boots are a similar style to the Steve Madden pair above, but they’re available at a much lower price.

While this isn’t a well-known brand, it’s a good option due to its synthetic materials, soft fabric lining, double side gore, and pull-on tab.

Cara Fashion Boot

Here’s another style by Steve Madden that looks just like Doc Martens boots.

This lace-up style comes in many different colors, is made of synthetic leather, and features white stitching to match the rest of the boot.

Although it’s almost identical to several Dr. Marten styles, these are a much more affordable alternative.

Fling Chunky Lug Sole Boots

If finding a vegan option is a huge deal for you, check out this pair by Soda. The big difference between this pair and a pair of dms is the thickness of the laces.

These lace-up shoes have thinner laces but still feature a chunky outsole and air-cushioned soles.

ICHIGO Side Zipper Ankle Boots

Get the same iconic look at a great price with this pair of side zip boots available on Amazon.

These boots have a rubber sole and a velvet lining and they come in several different colors, all of which are available at very affordable prices.

If you need a half size they have those as well, which isn’t usually the case with Doc Martens.

Allegra K Chunky Platform Boots

Thanks to the Target sleuths of TikTok I was able to find these boots that are available in a wide range of colors.

These feature a super chunky platform sole with a shaft height of 5 5/7 inches, a heel height of 3 inches, and a platform height of 1 3/8 inches.

Steve Madden Betty

Another style by Steve Madden that made our list is the Betty

The Betty is great if you’re looking to add some color to your wardrobe.

These boots come in your typical black and white, but also come in some fun and unexpected colors like pink and burgundy.

Sam Edelman Garret Boot

Another brand that is well-known for it’s high quality products is Sam Edelman.

I’ve had many pairs of shoes from Sam Edelman over the years and have found them to run true to size and great quality.

This pair comes in several colors and is made of 100% leather and has a simple lace up closure.

That’s it for this list of the best alternatives to Doc Martens! Hopefully, you found something that fits your style and budget.
