5 Ways To Monetize Your Blog

This post may contain Amazon, Rewardstyle, and other affiliate links. That means if you click and buy, I may receive a small commission (at zero cost to you). Please see my full disclosure policy for details.

If you’re reading this it’s probably because you have no clue how to monetize your blog, and that’s ok. you’ve come to the right place.

Monetizing your blog isn’t really as hard as you might think. It doesn’t have to take 5 years and boat loads of content before you can monetize, contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere. Will success happen overnight? Probably not. But it CAN happen in a short amount of time if you put the work in.

Here are 5 ways to monetize your blog right from the VERY START.

5 Ways To Monetize Your Blog

1 – Affiliate Links

Affiliate links are by far one of the best ways to monetize your blog. One of the best parts? You can start earning from DAY 1. I’ve read numerous posts from other bloggers saying they wish they had started using them sooner. There’s no reason not to – as long as you are linking to products you TRULY love/use.

Never link to something just for the sake of linking because you want to sell something. You want your readers to trust you and trust that you’re only recommending things you feel are worthy of their time/money.

Here are just a few of the affiliate networks I love:

ShareASale – Sharesale is a platform that allows you to be a part of thousands of affiliate programs. Programs such as Tailwind and Wayfair are examples of what you can find via ShareASale.

RewardStyle – This network is mostly geared towards fashion/style/home so if any of those are your main focus I highly recommend applying! There are very few brands that AREN’T on this platform.

Amazon Associates – Since Amazon has essentially everything anyone could ever need, it’s a great program to be a part of. They also have a simple plugin so you can search for and add products to your posts without ever having to leave your site.

Check out my Amazon Storefront to get an idea of what you can do with it. As we all know, Amazon has just about anything you can think of so it’s great no matter what niche you’re in. I love that I can create categories for a better shopping experience for my readers. It also helps if you run a business that covers several topics.

FlexOffers – Another program that houses thousands of brands. One of the greatest things about FlexOffers is their Refer-A-Friend Program. When you refer another publisher to FlexOffers you receive a commission of every sale THEY earn. Passive income is the best kind 🙂

2 – Ads

When you put ads on your blog from programs such as Max BountyGoogle Adsense or Mediavine you earn money on a pay-per-click basis. When someone clicks the ad, you earn money. The higher your pageviews the more you are likely to make with ads. This is where creating quality content comes in.

3 – Sponsored Posts

Sponsored posts are when a brand or company pays you to either write a blog post and/or create content for one of your social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) about their product or service. Sponsored posts are my bread and butter right now. I made over $50,000 via sponsored opportunities in 2019. In this post, I share how I made over $11,562.19 in one month.

Here’s a list of 42 sponsorship networks to get paid work

4 – Sell A Product/Service

Creating a product is something I have yet to do. With a newborn, my time has been very limited but it is one of my goals for this year! Again – passive income is a GREAT way to keep earning money month after month. Check out some of Megans products if you’re looking for some really great inspo!

Does photography interest you? If so, did you know there is a HUGE need for stock photos from bloggers and content creators? If you’ve got some photography skills you can create stock images and sell them via your own website or on a stock photo website such as Shutterstock.

5 – Create a Course

Are you an expert in your field? Have a lot of knowledge you know is valuable? Create a course and SELL IT! Everyone is a beginner at some point. Find those that need your course! One of the most popular platforms to create a course is Teachable and it’s what I plan to use if and when I create a course.

Blogging is not a get-rich-quick career. It takes time. But if you put out great content and fulfill a need you WILL get there!

Great post . Thank you . I like the way you make things seem simple and how encouraging you are. So many bloggers make blogging success sound like some unattainable goal which takes years to reach
