Before we had Anthony I was contacted by Bella Baby Photography in regards to capturing hospital shots of our soon-to-be newest babe. It’s not something we’ve ever done before and quite honestly, I didn’t even know it was a thing! We’ve always done newborn photos when our children were around 2 weeks old.
I was really excited to get even more photos of the baby so of course I said YES! Can you ever have enough pictures of your kids?! They change so much so quickly, even from birth to 2 weeks. Bella Baby Photography was great to work with and they made the process SO easy. I want to share a little about our experience working with them (and some pics!) so you can decide if you’d like to have in-hospital photos done too.

I know you’re probably wondering how it’s possible for a photographer to catch some wall-hanging-worthy pictures in a hospital but I assure you – they make it work! Our photographer used a white sheet and we wrapped up Anthony in a swaddle that we brought ourselves. It’s the one thing I recommend bringing if you want to do hospital photos (unless you want photos of your babe in the traditional white swaddle with blue and pink stripes).
Our photographer made the process really enjoyable. She was in and out in about 15 minutes we got roughly 60 images!
We decided to be in a few of the photos but you don’t have to. Our daughter happened to be at the hospital at the time the photographer showed up, so she hopped in a few too 🙂 If you want any of your other children to be in some photos I recommend letting them know ahead of time so that you can coordinate for them to be there.
Our photographer got so many good pictures it was hard to pick out which ones to share! I am so happy we decided to do these and capture those moments in the hospital that are often just a blur. We’r often exhausted and feel disheveled but it’s a time I never want to forget and I know these photos will help keep it fresh in our minds for years to come.
