Ever since Amazon fashion rolled around, I’ve been hesitant to purchase clothing from anywhere that doesn’t offer free return shipping. However, I had been wanting to try out Princess Polly for a while so I finally bit the bullet a few months ago.
Today I’m dishing all the details in this Princess Polly review including quality of the clothes, sizing info, shipping, and a try-on with some of the items/outfits I received. If you’ve been interested in trying their clothes but hesitant for whatever reason, this post is for you!
Princess Polly Review
What is Princess Polly?
Princess Polly is an online boutique with trendy, street style, and sexy pieces based in Queensland, Australia, and Los Angeles, California. They’re committed to offering ethical and sustainable fashion and even have a human rights policy that you can find right on their website.
Creating cheap clothing with poor quality isn’t their main goal. Rather, they strive to offer high-quality products at reasonable prices. And something really cool about Princess Polly – they never photoshop the models on their sites. With all the editing going on in today’s world, it’d nice to see REAL people showing off their clothes.
Here’s a piece I recently grabbed from the site. I got this playsuit in a 4 which is my normal size and it fits great. I love that it’s flowy but has the removable tie around the waist to give it shape. It’s not too short and the material is great for hot summer days.
Is Princess Polly good quality?
From my experience with their products, yes, Princess Polly items are good quality. I didn’t receive any items with hanging threads, itchy fabric, or see-through material like you might find with Shein or Romwe. Princess Polly seems to have a much more consistent quality than fast fashion brands.
I love this romper. Again, I’m wearing a 4 which is my normal size and it fits perfectly. It’s sexy but not overly revealing. I’m more comfortable wearing pastey’s or a sticky bra underneath because the material isn’t thick but that’s just a personal preference.
Is Princess Polly a safe site?
Yes. Princess Polly isn’t one of those overseas sites that take your money and then go MIA. Though they aren’t accredited on the BBB website, I wouldn’t let that sway your opinion on whether or not you should shop with them.
I knew I wanted this top the second I saw it. It’s stretchy, soft, and fully unbuttons down the front. The skirt has no digging elastic, it’s very lightweight and has a zipper down the back. These 2 pieces paired together are definitely on the sexier side, but you could easily tone it down by swapping out the skirt for jeans or the top for a sweater.
Does Princess Polly run small?
The items I received varied. Most of the items ran true to size, but one, in particular, ran on the smaller side. However, the Princess Polly site has tons of reviews on most items. I recommend skimming through each one to read the reviews, specifically in regard to sizing. I found this to be extremely helpful when choosing what size to get.
Each item on the Princess Polly website also has a sizing tool. Be sure to check the measurements and use this tool on every item as they all vary.
This is the one dress where I needed to go up 2 sizes. I’m normally a 4 and based on reviews, ordered the 6. Even the 6 was incredibly short and couldn’t be worn out without something underneath. The dress however was amazing quality and absolutely gorgeous! Just be sure to size up accordingly in this if you do decide to try it out.
How long does it take Princess Polly to deliver?
Princess Polly offers free 2-3 day shipping when you spend $50. Typically, for US orders, if your order is being shipped to the west coast you can expect your package to arrive within 2 days. If you order from the east coast, you can expect to receive your package within 3 days.
Orders placed before 2 pm pacific time generally ship the same day.
I LOVE this dress. It’s form-fitting yet not too revealing, something Princess Polly seems to be really great at offering. The stretchy knit material makes it incredibly comfortable while the ribbing makes it forgiving. Highly recommend.
Is Princess Polly ethical?
Yes, Princess Polly is ethical. As mentioned earlier, you can view their human rights policy right on their website which isn’t something you typically see from retailers.
Additionally, Princess Polly is invested in ethical and sustainable fashion as well as keeping it real with NO photoshopping of their models. Per their site, their also implementing a new program with manufacturing partners to meet the standards they have set forth in their human rights policy act. This is something I’ve never heard of and I think says a lot about the people behind the company.
With so many fast fashion brands being very elusive the days, it’s nice to finds brands that are forthcoming with the way they run their business.
This dress fits perfectly and is so beautiful. It’s classy enough to wear to a special occasion like a bridal or baby shower and it also works perfectly for any spring/summer party. The ruffles give it a nice shape and the material is comfortable.
Princess Polly Return Shipping
Princess Polly items can be returned within 30 days of delivery however, they do not offer a pre-paid shipping label for you to send your items back. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping fees when returning items. A deduction of $6.95 will be taken out of your return total.
Another outfit I’m absolutely in love with. Both of these pieces fit true to size and are great quality.
AfterPay & Student Discount
Princess Polly also offers Afterpay and a 10% student discount. Afterpay allows you to make 4 interest-free payments over the course of 8 weeks. Your clothes still get delivered immediately, you just get that extra time to pay it off.
In order to receive the 10% student discount, you need to sign up and get verified through Student Beans. Once verified, you’ll receive a student discount that you can apply to your Princess Polly order.
I love the style of this romper. It’s concealing around the midsection and has several areas where you can adjust the ties to your liking. I have an extremely long torso so finding rompers that have a long enough inseam is just hit or miss. The inseam on this one was a bit short, but if you have an average length torso, I think it would be just fine.
Princess Polly Review Summary
I 100% recommend trying Princess Polly. Unlike fast-fashion brands such as Shein, Romwe, Zaful, etc., their clothes are consistently good quality and I’ve never had to wait weeks to receive items. Additionally, the mission behind the brand is one I’m happy to stand by.
